Learning Strategies and Their Active Role in the Process of Teaching Arabic to Primary School Learners

Abstract

This study aims to define the concept of active learning strategies and demonstrate their effective role in the process of teaching Arabic to primary school learners. It does so by examining the most important active learning strategies and identifying their characteristics and the steps involved in their classroom implementation by teachers working with learners. To clarify this, the study adopts an analytical approach, drawing at times on the mechanisms of the descriptive method and, at other times, on inductive procedures. Its purpose is to reveal the importance of active learning strategies in developing primary school learners’ abilities and skills and in laying the foundations of knowledge, through their interaction with these

 strategies within their classes and educational groups.

These strategies help learners acquire the Arabic language and gain knowledge in a simplified manner. They also improve their understanding, comprehension, and reading abilities through a purposeful educational method based on the principles of discovery and enjoyment, keeping them ready to receive knowledge and learning without becoming bored. Through the application of these strategies, the teacher assumes the role of a guide and facilitator for this group.

Furthermore, we concluded that these strategies play a significant role in promoting self-directed learning among learners, improving teamwork to enhance their creativity, and enabling them to develop a spirit of challenge in confronting problems and advancing themselves as well as their cognitive and cultural abilities.
